COVID-19 Volunteer Information

The health and safety of both Volunteers and Staff is of the upmost importance.

The following information is provided as a general guide, further information and directives can be found online at the Department of Health and Human Services.


Based on current State and Federal directives, Radio East Gippsland is permitted to continue operations. Staff and Volunteers are able to continue their regular duties, and the following procedures are for the safety of everyone:

  • You must maintain good personal hygiene practices, and use the supplied hand sanitiser on arrival at both studios (Lakes Entrance and Bairnsdale).

  • You must wear face coverings in both studios (unless you have a lawful excuse or exemption for not wearing a face covering). It is permitted to remove face coverings when alone and whilst talking on-air. 

  • You must maintain at least a 1.5m distance between you and others whilst at either studio (Lakes Entrance or Bairnsdale).

  • Program rotation has been implemented at Lakes Entrance and Bairnsdale studios, allowing separation between presenters.

  • All presenters are supplied with personal microphone socks (contact the Bairnsdale studio for further information).

  • At the end of each program, presenters must wipe down and sanitise work areas with the provided cleaning products.

  • If you are feeling unwell, do not got to the studio. You must stay at home. If you suspect you may have the coronavirus (COVID-19) call the dedicated hotline, open 24 hours, 7 days on 1800 675 398 and get tested.

  • Visitors and Guest are currently restricted at both studios. All approved visitors and guests must complete the COVID-19 sign in /out book at both studios.

  • Please read and follow all information signage located throughout both studios.
